10 Meter Rifle Match Report

July 17th, 2015

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Sorry, this report is running late due to a combination of technical issues and priorities. We had a turnout of 6 shooters that participated in the 10 Meter Rifle match on July 17, 2015. Bad weather believed to contribute to the light turnout. We ran one relay of 75 minutes. The match started about 6:00 pm and ended about 7:30 pm.  A new class has been initiated. It is named ' Unlimited '. This class is a modified version of NRA Prone. Initiated by Ray Peron, you will require a bi-pod attached. That's the only modification from NRA adaptive prone. You might even say its our version of 10m bench-rest. Several shooters tried it and said it was a hoot to shoot. Now lets see who can be the first to shoot a perfect 654. The maximum attained using decimal scoring. I expect this class to grow. Its more challenging then you might think. So, a light turnout but everyone had a load of fun.

A Typical match is now separated into four classes,

*** Off-hand standing, ( 18 yrs and older ).

*** Unlimited - ( NRA Adaptive Prone Modified )
*** NRA Adaptive Prone
*** Juniors ( 17 yrs and younger )

In a typical match all classes will shoot 2 shots per target. Five targets per round. Total 10 shots per 10 minute round. Six rounds for a 60 shot match. If one relay is required than a 75 minute limit is set. All 60 shots must be completed. Shooters will shoot 30 targets two shots each. Juniors may shoot 1 shot per target. 10 targets per 10 minute round. This format works best for juniors as they prepare for major sanctioned matches.

Please note the scores are shown in decimal units. Thus, no X's.You will find match results attached for each class and shows each shooter's results. Congratulations to all the shooters. Thanks to all that participated and helped clean up.
